On February 7th, 2009, graduation ceremonies and dinner were held at the fabulous Odyssey Restaurant overlooking the San Fernando Valley in Granada Hills, California. Graduate students, their families and friends, other students, WBI instructors and staff from all campuses were in attendance to celebrate this most wonderful achievement and moment in their life.
As is the tradition at WBI, all were serenaded by a mariachi band while everyone was seated and a fabulous dinner was served. There were many hugs, smiles, laughter and tears of joy as the crowd settled in.
After the dinner service, the graduates exited to put on their caps and gowns to make their grand entrance as 2009 graduates. Digital cameras, video cameras and camera phones clicked and whirred, recording this special family occasion. Their loved ones had finally made it and were ready to step out into the world with skills and a diploma no one can take from them.
Awards, certificates, medals were given for perfect attendance and scholastic excellence as well as recognition for those who had already passed the State Board examination. Each instructor was there to congratulate one and all as was the CEO of Western Beauty Institute, Ms. Christina Diaz.
Caps flew into the air and there was their first dance as graduates. Then, all the graduates rushed onstage for a somewhat impromptu group photograph taken by Director of Marketing Randy Fugate. Even with tens of proud family members grabbing dozens of photos of the setup, Director of Marketing, Randy Fugate politely asked them to stand aside for just a few minutes while he snapped the group shot.
Director of Marketing for Western Beauty Institute, Randy Fugate said,
"I know of no other school for Cosmetology, Esthetics and Beauty training that celebrates it's graduates success in such a fabulous, extravagant fashion. Our Students are treated to a full cap and gown, formal graduation ceremony that includes a gourmet dinner and entertainment. We know these graduates deserve every bit of it!"
