Davey Award Received For WBI Web Site
Davey Award

Director of Marketing, Randy Fugate announced,"Today, WBI and I have been honored with a Silver Davey award from the International Academy of the Visual Arts. This is tribute to the hard work of our marketing department and the individuals that have contributed to it. I want to thank Rodel Paredes, Megan Dahl, Jim Tompkins, Karla Loza and now Danish Kazi for all of their efforts to help me create an award winning web site. Without their help it would have been most difficult." Mr. Fugate continued, "I would also like to thank Ms. Christina Diaz our CEO, for her unwavering support of all my efforts here in the marketing department and for her undying friendship to me and my family."

The Davey Awards are specifically for smaller companies without the grandiose budgets of large faceless corporations or massive advertising agencies. It's "David versus Goliath" and David gets the reward. From the web site, the Davey Awards describe themselves this way:

"ABOUT THE DAVEYS

The largest and most prestigious awards competition exclusively for
the "Davids" of creativity.

David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock - the sort of thing small firms do each year. The annual International Davey Awards honors the achievements of the "Creative Davids" who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than stratospheric budgets.

Think of yourself as a "David?" Then enter the Davey Awards, the first major awards competition specifically for smaller firms, where you compete with your peers to win the recognition you deserve.

The Davey Awards may be for smaller organizations, but the judges have big reputations. The Davey is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Victoria's Secret, Wired, and Yahoo! and many more."

JUDGING AND THE ACADEMY

Winning entries for the Davey Awards are selected by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. The IAVA oversees all judging and maps the strategic direction for the Davey Awards program. The IAVA is a membership-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
