Talented students from Western Beauty Institute once again took home awards from the 2008 Barristar Beauty School Forum student trade show and competition, which was held on Sunday, April 20th and Monday, April 21st at the Hilton Hotel in Anaheim, California.

Student Ruby Ramirez of Ms. Lana’s class styled model Nick Rose’s hair for the Men’s Haircutting Competition, held on Sunday. The haircut alone was judged on technical proficiency and expertise of cut.

Participating in Monday’s “Evening Total Look” Student Team Competition were:

Taking Second Place in the competition were:

Stylist: Claudia Vindell
Make-up: Amparo L Millan
Nails: Marisela Quezada
Model: Claudia Trana
Instructor: Ms. Laboriel

Thirty minutes were allowed for each of the Nail, Makeup and Hairstyling competitions. Stylist Claudia Vindell also won Second Place in the Hairstyling portion of the competition.

Judge Arnol Simpkins served as Competition Director and Chairman of Judges. The competition was sponsored by the Long Beach Hairdressers Guild.
