“We're having a fantastic year,” reports The Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. The bright orange California Poppy joins yellow goldfields, purple owl clover and blue lupine to signal the arrival of spring in the Antelope Valley. And to celebrate, it’s time again for the Antelope Valley Poppy Festival, slated for Saturday, April 19th through Sunday, April 20th. And once again, Western Beauty Institute students, instructors and staff will be giving away free T-shirts, pens, prizes and more, as well as providing fun face painting and tattoos for the kids, hair braiding, and generally contributing to the fun.
Information about signing up for WBI’s day and evening classes in English or Spanish will be available. Interested visitors can get all of their questions answered at WBI’s booth by our staff and instructors while enjoying the festival, to be broadcast live on KTPI radio 97.7 FM, “The High Desert’s Best Country.”
The festival will be open from 10am to 6pm both days at Lancaster City Park on 10th Street West, north of Avenue L. Tickets are on sale at $8/Adults and $5/Children & Seniors. Parking is free. Entertainment and music will be provided throughout, including performances by Jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour, Dancers of Nepal, Turkey & Romania, Cajun divas The Magnolia Sisters, as well as drill teams, ballet demonstrations, magicians, animal shows, science exhibits, mural painting, and much, much more!
Join us, celebrate the blossoming of Spring, and give yourself a new beginning by considering a new career for your future! See you there! |
