Prospective brides were given free makeovers at the recent “Wild and Wonderful Weddings” Bridal Show at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds on Sunday, January 13th. Talented students from Western Beauty Institute’s nearby Lancaster campus performed the beauty makeovers, featuring the latest makeup and hairstyle techniques.
“Weddings have become incredibly complicated and potentially stressful,” said the show’s coordinator Tina Hanlon. “Having all the community’s wedding resources under one roof helps planners and participants alike to keep a couple’s special day special.”
The event, held in the Fairgrounds’ Poppy Pavilion, featured a fashion show, dance exhibition, and a “cake dive,” where contestants ripped apart a wedding cake in search of a special prize. Western Beauty Institute gave away a makeup case and gift certificates as part of the raffle for brides who attended.
The beauty students who participated were Norma Torres,
Blanca Bernal, Veronica Ramirez,
Olivia Diaz,
Samuel Arias,
Lourdes Echeverria and
Cecilia Escovar. Ms. Betty Alvarez, Event Coordinator for Western Beauty Institute, organized the handouts, prizes and student activities for WBI’s booth.
