According to a recent LA Times article, celebrities and socialites are happily paying $800-950 and up for a hairstyle or haircut these days, an encouragement to beauty school students that there is indeed great money potential to be made in their chosen field.
Even Presidential candidate John Edwards was seen shelling out $400 to keep his hair looking good. “Could I just mess your hair up a little bit?,” David Letterman asked the Senator on a recent stint on “The Late Show.”
According to the LA Times article, there is plenty of room for a range of haircut pricing. “Everybody deserves a new ’do without getting sheared,” the article states, and profiles 10 local barbers and stylists who are ‘making waves.’
