Was that Jennifer Hudson? There goes Selena! Hey, it’s Beyonce!... or at least WBI’s interpretation of those unique and celebrated styles, re-created by the skillful hands of Western Beauty Institute students.
The Celebrity Look-a-Like Contest was held at WBI’s Panorama City campus on December 20th. Students were encouraged to do their very best stylistic imitations of popular stars, using their newly acquired knowledge in the latest techniques in hair styling, nails (manicures & pedicures), cosmetic applications and other beauty techniques.
Here is the "red carpet" rundown:
- 1st Place winner was student Azaziah Hubert. Model was Aankha Neal. Celebrity was Jennifer Hudson.
- 2nd Place winner was student Victoria Steel. Model was Jessica Huerta (student). Celebrity was Selena.
- 3rd Place winner was student Debbie Medina. Model was Sederia Moore. Celebrity was Beyonce.
Prepped for the paparazzi, the following students also participated in the competition:
- Student Jasmine Feldman, Model Michelle Hobb (student), celebrity was Audrey Hepburn
- Student Alvaro Vallejo, model Kalista Lee (student), celebrity Alicia Keys.
- Student Ruby Ramirez, model Candy Cubillos, celebrity Jennifer Lopez
- Student Donia Menjivar, model Sandra Valdivia, celebrity Katie Holmes
- Student Karla Hernandez, model Eliza Mazariego, celebrity Jennifer Lopez
- Student Isabel Castro, model Maria Ulloa (student), celebrity Alicia Villareal
- Student Yessica, model Mariela, celebrity Mandy Moore.
- Student Maria Benitez, model Renata, celebrity Vanessa Hudgens.
The judges were Instructors Ms. Marcela and Ms. Lana, along with Ms. Gabriela from SuperCuts.
“We have a great team of Instructors,” said the school’s Assistant Director Teresa Romero. “They support
our students and encourage them to bring out their talents.”
Kudos go to Mrs. Aurelia for putting together the event, and to the students who participated in the
competition. Thank you to Ms. Soto, Ms. Laboriel, Ms. Maritza, Mr. Salvador, Ms. Jilla and Mr. Abel
