WBI In The Headlines
On Wednesday, August 1st, the Business Editor from the Antelope Valley Press, Tina Forde, visited Western Beauty Institute’s Lancaster campus for an in-depth feature interview with school owner Christina Diaz.
Forde wrote about how Diaz began her career as a receptionist, fell in love with the Beauty Industry, and rose to become owner of the renowned school with its two campuses in Lancaster and Panorama City. Forde wrote of Diaz’s determination to rise above her limitations, of bringing bilingual opportunities to her cosmetology and estheology course students, and of how she turned a former multiplex movie theater into a 14,000-square-foot state-of-the-art beauty school with the support of family, friends and colleagues. “And no sticky soda residue or squashed popcorn is to be found in the former theater,” Forde writes. “The entire facility is squeaky clean.”
On Tuesday, August 7th, photographer Evelyn Kristo of the AV Press came to take pictures of the school to be included with the article, which was published in the Antelope Valley Press Business Section on Thursday, August 9th. Also on-hand throughout the interview and photo session was Marketing Director Randy Fugate, who documented the visits with photos (left).
