Western Beauty Institute's sponsorship of the local hip-hop station, 100.9 FM, “The Heat's” participation at the 2007 Poppy Festival held in Lancaster City Park Saturday, April 21st was incredibly successful. Literally hundreds of men, women, children and families dropped by the small but powerful Adelman Broadcasting booth which Western Beauty Institute was sponsoring on Saturday. Make up, makeovers, hair styling, hair braiding, hair color, face painting was all being provided by WBI students supervised by our beautiful Miss Alena of the Estheology Department. The station was overwhelmed by the response of the crowd. Jess Collins of Adelman Broadcasting was extremely impressed by all of the students and staff of Western Beauty Institute. "Wow, everybody here is GREAT!" Jess said after the crowds began swarming over the set up.

Randy Fugate, Director of Marketing stated, "This was an incredibly successful outing for us today. We look forward to other forthcoming synergistic opportunities with Adelman Broadcasting. We also look forward to being able to display our fabulous students’ abilities every chance we get."

"We also want to thank our DJ Chad, the street crew of ‘The Heat,’ all of our students and staff for the great work and response in making this event successful." Also at the event, Joy Rodriguez, Director of Admissions, her husband, and daughter Dawn who both graciously helped out at the stand; Beatriz Garay Alvarez, Events Coordinator; Miss Alena, Esthetics Instructor; Randy Fugate, Director of Marketing; students from the cosmetology department and students from the estheology department.
