WBI JOBS :: Instructor
Instructors must have the following qualifications:
- No record of any violations of the Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education Reform Act
- A current Certificate of Authorization for Service from the Bureau For Private Postsecondary and Vocational
Education
OR
- Verification that he/she possesses a combination of at least three years’ experience and training or education in the occupation or job title category
- A degree of equal or higher level in the occupation or job title category
- 3 letters of reference
Critical Skills:
- Temperate disposition, with the ability to be fair, firm and friendly
- Must possess almost limitless patience and understanding and be a good listener
- Must display qualities such as initiative, tact, pose, honesty and loyalty
- Effective communicative skills, good voice tone, proper pronunciation. Clarity of speech, good grooming and posture are other considerations for a good Instructor
- A well-rounded knowledge and experience in the field is a must
- Current knowledge of up-to-date products, equipment, materials is a must
- Ability to motivate people to learn and get involved in classes
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
Major responsibilities:
- Preparation and presentation of all lesson plans for all assigned classes
- Monitor student progress, assist in cases where additional instruction is required
- Monitor student attendance, commend students with good attendance and/or work habits and take corrective action with students displaying poor attendance
- Must fully review the Satisfactory Progress Report with the students; this includes: attendance, practical and exam grades, along with written comments by the instructor. Must make sure that students receive a copy of this Satisfactory Progress Report
